Ardbeg 1978 / Bot.1998 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Distilled in 1978 after Ardbeg's on-site maltings closed, this was among the first releases by Glenmorangie following their 1997 acquisition of the distillery, bottled at 43% in 1998. The spirit carries the distillery's full peat signature mellowed by 20 years in cask, with smoke tempered by wood vanillins and subtle oak tannins. Now scarce and sought after, it appeals to collectors documenting the transitional period between Ardbeg's independent era and modern ownership.
