Ardbeg's 36-year-old expression, bottled by Douglas Laing at 43.5% ABV in 2009 to mark the company's 60th anniversary, represents one of the last remaining casks of old Ardbeg from this landmark vintage. Over three and a half decades, peat and maritime smoke have matured into subtle, integrated notes, with oak adding layers of spice, leather, and dry wood character. At this age, the spirit achieves remarkable balance—smoke remains present but refined, the texture silky and warming. An exceptionally rare bottling of just 94 bottles, reserved for serious collectors of aged Islay whisky.
