Glenmorangie 1981 / Sauternes Wood Finish Highland Whisky

Distilled in 1981 and matured for 21 years with a final two-year finish in premier cru Château d'Yquem casks, this Glenmorangie represents the distillery's pioneering approach to wood finishing. The Sauternes influence adds layers of honeyed richness and stone fruit complexity to the characteristic floral, herbal Glenmorangie profile. At 46%, the spirit retains excellent balance between the wine cask sweetness and the distillery's core elegant character. A collectors' piece that predates and informs the later Nectar D'Or expression.
