Ardbeg 1975 / 15 Year Old / Cadenhead's Islay Whisky

From 1975, one of Ardbeg's most significant vintages, this expression was aged for 15 years before Cadenhead's bottled it in November 1990 at 46% abv. The 1970s Ardbeg character—robust peat, maritime salt, and subtle sherry influence—has mellowed into a more integrated whole, with smoke complemented by orchard fruit and warming spice. At 15 years, the peat remains assertive but rounded by proper maturation. A historical bottling that documents Ardbeg's character during an era before modern production standardization.
