Tobermory 20 Year Old 1996 (cask 13190) - Old Malt Cask (Hunter Laing)

This unpeated Tobermory from the Isle of Mull was distilled in July 1996 and spent 20 years maturing in a refill hogshead before Hunter Laing bottled it in 2017, yielding just 242 bottles from cask 13190. As an ex-bourbon vessel, the cask allowed the spirit's maritime character to develop alongside orchard fruit and subtle oak influence. The extended aging in refill wood creates a delicate, nuanced profile without excessive wood dominance. A rare opportunity to explore an older, unpeated island malt from a transitional era of Scottish whisky.
