Caol Ila's characteristically green, vegetal profile from 2008 distillation has been transformed by 18 months finishing in ex-solera sherry butts, adding dark fruit depth and richness to the signature Islay smoke. At 55.4% ABV, the peat smoke remains prominent but gains complexity from stone-fruit sweetness, dark chocolate, and charcoal bitterness. The texture is thick and powerful, built on years of careful aging and cask selection. A sophisticated expression for those who appreciate peat balanced against sweet cask influence.
