Caol Ila 26 Year Old 1988 (cask 4213) - Celebration of the Cask (Càrn Mòr)

Caol Ila's new make spirit entered cask 4213 in December 1988 and remained there for 26 years until Càrn Mòr's August 2015 bottling, yielding just 135 bottles. Islay's signature peat smoke and maritime character have been tempered and refined through three decades in wood, developing underlying sweetness and subtle oak influence. A rare, aged expression of Caol Ila that shows how extended maturation can build complexity in peated whisky.
