Bunnahabhain's unpeated Islay character shines through this 20-year-old, distilled in November 1997 and finished for nearly two years in Palo Cortado sherry casks before bottling at cask strength in April 2018. The sherry influence adds layers of dried fruit, toffee, and subtle spice to the distillery's characteristic coastal minerality and subtle brine. Rich and warming on the palate with a long, complex finish that balances sweet oak with maritime notes. A limited release of 1,620 bottles, suited to those seeking sophistication beyond typical Islay profiles.
