Bunnahabhain 10 Year Old 2009 (cask 900023) (Adelphi)

Bunnahabhain's 10-year-old from Adelphi spent its entire maturation in a first-fill oloroso sherry butt, bottled at cask strength (59.3% ABV) from an outturn of 695 bottles. The heavy sherry influence dominates the Islay character, bringing dried fruits, chocolate, and warming spice that overshadow the distillery's typically unpeated, briny maritime notes. A sherried take on Islay for those who prefer wood complexity over peat expression.
