Bunnahabhain (Staoisha) 9 Year Old 2013 (cask 800076) - Infrequent Flyers (Alistair Walker)

Bunnahabhain's Staoisha from 2013 presents the distillery's peated character in a more restrained, approachable form than Islay's heavier expressions. Aged nine years and finished in a PX puncheon, it layers gentle smoke with dried fruit sweetness, dark chocolate, and a subtle maritime edge. At 55.7% ABV, the texture is rich and mouth-coating with a long, warming finish. This cask-strength single barrel works well for those who appreciate smoke with complexity, or diluted slightly to unlock further layers.
