Caol Ila 27 Year Old 1982 (Adelphi)

Caol Ila's distinctive Islay peat and brine character, aged 27 years and bottled at cask strength in 2009, yields just 227 bottles from this Adelphi release. The extended maturation would have mellowed the distillery's characteristic smoke into a more integrated, complex expression.
