At 56% strength and 23 years old, the spirit showcases how sherry wood deepens and rounds Islay's peat, adding dried fruit complexity and a silky texture absent from bourbon-aged counterparts. The combination of rich cask influence and briny smoke proved so successful it became the template for countless Ardbeg releases to follow. A landmark bottling that transformed how serious drinkers viewed the distillery.
