Ardbeg's 2019 Supernova returns the distillery's most aggressively peated expression to the Committee Release lineup, matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks to let the peat character dominate. Aniseed, menthol, and eucalyptus rise from the glass, anchored by intense smoke, soot, charred wood, and birch tar across the palate—a study in phenolic intensity without oak sweetness to soften the blow.
